WHO IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PERSON IN YOUR LIFE?
Your answer may be a factor in how healthy you are

Whenever we work with patients on improving their overall health, we start by asking a simple question: “Who is the most important person in your life?”

Many people answer that the most important person is their child, their parent, their spouse or some other loved one. But the real answer is YOU! You are the most important person in your life!

Most of us were raised to believe that putting ourselves first is selfish. But the reality is that when we take care of ourselves, we have even more to give to others.

It’s worth considering the health consequences of failing to make your needs your first priority.

When someone says, “I don’t have time to take care of myself,” what does that really mean?

It means you don’t think your basic needs (sleep, exercise, eating well, taking time to enjoy yourself and relax) are worthy of care. The truth is that when you don’t take care of yourself, every part of your body from your cells to your skin to your mind—suffers. When you don’t eat right, your cells suffer. When you let stress get to you, your cells suffer.

All that cellular damage and dehydration actually ages you and makes you more likely to suffer from diseases.

So what is the first step you should take on your journey to a younger, healthier, happier you?  Make yourself the most important person in your life.
