In today’s world you can’t help but be constantly reminded that we as a human race are having a huge negative impact on our environment.  I know I’m concerned for my children and all future generations and what kind of world we are leaving them with.  It seems like such an overwhelming problem that it’s easy to have the mentality of “I can’t really make a difference.”  In fact, if every single one of us just raises our consciousness of what we can do to be more mindful of having a less negative impact on our environment… well, if you add up millions of people, then we actually can make a difference.

I try to be green in my everyday life.  In my office and in my home we are strict recyclers and we have been sure to teach my children about the importance of being kind to the environment.  When we take walks together we make a game of ALWAYS picking up any litter that’s been left behind, they think they have won a prize when they see one and put it in the trash can!  I am also making a conscious effort to go paperless with bill paying, banking, and even printing out emails.  I have found that my paper supply lasts much longer now!  And lately, because of Walk with Walgreens I have even been driving less!  During the day I never take my car out anymore.  I walk to get lunch, go to the post office, the bank, the gym, you name it.  This is helping me to create a smaller carbon footprint every day, so thanks Walgreens!
