The Joan Lunden Do
I have gotten a number of requests asking how I get my hairstyle now that my hair has grown back after chemo, so I decided to bring in a pro, my wonderful hair stylist, Emir. Together we wrote a How To get the "Joan Lunden Do" blog, but we also wanted to show you how we do it. Take a look!
Products we use:
-
PhytoVolume Actif Volumizing Spray
-
Wella EIMI Extra-Volume Mousse
-
Schwarzkopf Osis Thrill Fibre Gum
-
Sebastian Shaper Hairspray
Tips from Emir:
-
A volumizing spray will make short hair stand up better and will give you fullness.
-
You can substitute a styling gel instead of using a volume mousse, but be sure to get one that will not dry out your hair.
-
If you have fine, straight hair, you will need more mousse. When applying, make sure you saturate your hair for best results.
-
When you are drying hair, make sure you are lifting the hair up for added volume.
-
Use warm heat when drying and directing or shaping hair. When hair begins to cool, it will begin to set.
-
Once your hair is dry, you can backcomb the hair on the top of your head to add some texture.
-
Top off your look with hairspray so that your style will hold all day long. Try to find a brushable hairspray so it does not make your hair too stiff and tough.
