Help Someone Stay Warm Today
We all have old coats and sweaters and boots around our homes that we have outgrown or have gone out of style. Well somewhere, someone is shivering and needs what you no longer need. I saw this article, Celebrities Embrace One Warm Coat today on the web and thought it was a good catalyst to start a discussion about the subject. This is a wonderful projector for a school, church or girl scout troop or even your bridge or book club. It's easy for people to collect unneeded stuff, it prompts them to de-clutter and reorganize which is good for the soul and for our minds. And this is also a wonderful opportunity to teach our children how to be compassionate about others needs and how to be charitable. Even if you don't organize a community coat drive, have one in your own home. Walk around your house with your kids and give them a large trash bag or laundry bag and ask them to pull out coats, sweaters, boots, and maybe a game or stuffed animal while they're at it that will go to someone in need. Then have them accompany you when you deliver the goods. It feels good to know you've help those less fortunate and even better to teach your children to do the same.
