Nancy Perkovich
I was diagnosed with triple negative invasive breast cancer in Oct. 2012 at age 73. I had 3 months of chemotherapy, toward the end of which I contracted a giardia infection, resulting in hospitalization, blood transfusions & iv antibiotics. My last chemo infusion was March 28 , 2013, followed by a lumpectomy, removal of 3 sentinel lymph nodes & removal of my port. Several weeks later, I began 33 radiation treatments, 5 days a week. Today, January 21 , 2015, I am cancer free, having just had a mammogram & exam by my breast surgeon yesterday. The support of family & friends was a blessing I will never forget.
