Sharon Austin
On Dec 26th, 2013 I received the call that every woman never wants to receive. My doctor called and said "the biopsy results were not good", my blood pressure went sky high. I sat there thinking this can not be happening, I have to much going on for this to be happening!!! Jen is expecting twins.....Josh is getting married and I just reconnected with Joe, I don't have time for this.
I had two tumors in my right breast and I was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer. II chose to have my head shaved after round 2 of chemo rather than watch it continue to fall out.
This has not been an easy journey and I have had my fair share of pity parties but; with the love, kind words, support and prayers I have received, I am proud to say I am surviving.
I have the two best reasons in the world to fight this horrible disease, my beautiful, smart, and loveable granddaughters Abigail Lee and Emily Ann. I am over the moon in love with this two amazing additiions to our family!!
I have survived surgery, 5 months of chemo and I just completed 35 rounds of radiation and although I know my journey is not over I now realize that with the love and support of my family and friends I can survive anything.
I am now sporting my new look which is white hair maybe a quarter of an inch long and some weight gain from the steriods but the good news is for now I am cancer free and praying I stay that way.
On Oct 18th I am walking in the Making Strides agaist Breast Cancer walk in my home town as a "Survivor"!!!!
