July 30, 2014, 10:03 am, I was told I have breast cancer. It's been a whirlwind of appointments since with my main doctor, breast surgeon, MRI, MRI breast biopsy, Radiation Oncologist, Plastic surgeon. and soon to be Oncologist I have Stage 1 IDC Grade 2 ER PR positive Her2 Negative. 10 days ago was my Lumpectomy with IORT and both breasts reconstruction all in one 5 hour event. Recovering well. Seeing my Oncologist for meds or meds with Chemo this Friday. Praying for whatever I will need to keep cancer free. I was shocked to hear I had cancer even though my sister was finishing her reconstruction as I began my treatment. I thought I was there for her but have since realized.. Dear God, you have NO clue until you are walking the path yourself. Feeling blessed and so grateful, although sometimes being faithful is hard, I push away any negative thoughts that try to creep in, I am stronger than this enemy called cancer.
