I am today a 3 year breast cancer survivor and had the best day ever on Wednesday October 1, 2014.....My adoption as a single mom to my son was finalized. There are so many courageous stories of survival, I wanted to share dreams become reality even through your breast cancer journey. I never questioned why me when I was diagnosed, instead I focused on getting well as I believed in my heart motherhood was destined for me. I suffered 5 miscarriages during my marriage and soon after was divorced. Believed motherhood would happen for me but unsure what path it would take me down as a single parent and almost 6 years ago I became a foster parent, I was diagnosed on my 45th birthday with stage 2, ER, PR and HR positive with 2 tumors. I returned to fostering after my surgeries and radiation and though still going through chemo, my beautiful son, Nathan entered my life on June 18, 2012 at 8 months of age and new in my heart he would be the child for me. 2 1/2 years later our adoption journey became reality. I will be celebrating my 50th birthday in April with my first true vacation with my son to Disney world. Never give up on your dreams!
