I was diagnosed with TNBC on Oct 13, 2003. I was 36 years old and NEVER expected it to hear those words. I had a lumpectomy followed by 6 rounds of dose dense chemotherapy. Six weeks of radiation therapy completed my treatments. I worked full time as a high school math teacher throughout the entire treatments. I had a village of people who would make meals, help clean my house, and all kinds of other things which allowed me to work and be with my girls. Truly this was a journey I would have never chosen. However I am so incredibly grateful for my journey (even 11 years later) because it has allowed me to realize that I am so much stronger than I ever imagined. Each year I celebrate Oct 13 just like a birthday. I consider it even more precious than my birthday... it is my "Savor Life and Live it Well" Day
