Vatesha

I was diagnosed with stage 2 Her+ breast cancer on February 27,2014 at the age of 36. Getting the news was devastating because there's no history in my immediate family. I'm a single African American woman and when I lear of my illness in a brief moment of panic I thought I was going to die. I want to be married and have a family some day. With the support of my family and my best friends, along with my faith in God, I began to find strength within myself and I was ready to fight for my life. After undergoing 8 rounds of chemotherapy, a lumpectomy, and 6 weeks of radiation I thank God I am now cancer free! This journey has truly changed my life and I want to be a help to others that are going through the journey.
