I am so excited to start my own blog. There are so many wonderful projects, health initiatives, and personal experiences that I can’t wait to write about. I’ve come to realize that blogging is like writing a journal. It’s fun and a great way to disseminate important information and to share common interests. Now my problem is that I don’t know how to stop!!!!

February is Heart Healthy Month and on the 13, I spoke at the Go Red Luncheon in Westchester, NY. Go Red for Women is the American Heart Association’s national call to action for women to increase awareness of heart disease and to inspire women to take charge of their heart health. I met some amazing women who spoke out about their own personal stories; a 27 year old graduate student whose symptoms began when she was just 16 to a middle aged woman who almost died because she ignored her warning signs, thinking she was tired or out of shape and of course she was putting everyone else’s needs before her own. Sound familiar? These stories made a profound effect on me and the over 400 women who were in attendance.

My husband brought my 5 year old son to hear Mommy speak and afterwards as I signed books for the luncheon attendees he pulled up a chair next to me and asked if he could sign too! The ladies loved it, and he even drew a little heart under his name! I’ll have to start training him to blog!!
