Kim Sahlfeld-Bunger

I was diagnosed on April 11, 2013, the same day my best friend from high school's dad died of cancer. That evening I turned to my God and asked for His assistance as I held my Bible. I didn't even know where to start. I asked God to show me what He wanted me to see and amazingly the verses God led me to told me that "I will send my angels to surround you" and "if one angel finds you righteous you will be saved". Then and there I decided God had this and I would dance it His way. I was dx with Stage 1 Bilateral Breast Cancer. My treatment included bilateral lumpectomies, 4 rounds of Chemo, and then radiation. I choose to change my diet and fight cancer on all levels. A dear friend of mine taught me about juicing and I cut gluten, dairy, sugar, and all processed foods out of my diet. I am doing great now. On November 22nd it will be a year since all my treatment has been completed. I had my first mammogram since treatment on February 25th and everything looked good. My hair has grown back in curly and at first I really hated curls but have now embraced the curls as a symbol of my new healthy life. I am so glad when others share their stories as we can beat this together.
